Hearts beat through our chests we run.
The chase had begun.
Naive we were, oh so young.
Still, we knew where we were going,
We had a dream, a future awaited us.
First through the fields, until we reached the forest.
The forest we ran through until we reached the lake.
The lake stared at us, face to face, blocking our route.
But we couldn’t stop running, not for all it was worth.
Around the edge, we sang as we ran.
The thud of our heels led us to the village.
Thatched cottages so small, would never be enough for our hopes,
So we passed through, leaving the roofs behind.
The city is called a place of fortune.
The streets were paved with stone brick,
Hearts were cold but we had our chance to touch our fourth dimension.
Clean white angles for Instagram photos, and Starbucks on corners,
Costs thousands, thousands that make us who we are.
We never stop, just experience the thrill of the chase.
From the city, we run to the edge of the world,
The deep blue ocean splashes over our bare feet.
Warm we wait, wait for our ships to sail.
To the island, we head,
On sandy beaches, we find our speed once more,
Running full speed towards the palm trees.
We reach our cabin and breathe.
Arms out. Head back. We laugh.
